A traditional end-of-the-holidays and return-to-work party, Twelfth Night has been celebrated since antiquity as a time to show and tell, share and partake of food and good company.
A late-afternoon walk takes place to wassail the apple trees on the MoonTree prairie to ensure a good apple harvest in 2024. This tradition dates back to the Roman Saturnalia, a festival that marked the onset of the winter solstice. The walk includes drinking warm apple cider, visiting and blessing the trees, and singing carols.
The event also includes spinning, knitting, crocheting, fancy stitching and all other types of fiber work for those who bring their own equipment and supplies.
Admission is free. Please bring food to share-casserole, veggies, bread, salad or dessert.
